GREY DAYS RTE newcomer Richard Flood makes bold admission after shock exit from multi-award winning hit US show
ACTOR Richard Flood has admitted he doesn’t miss working on Grey’s Anatomy.
The Dublin native joined the hit medical drama series as Dr Cormac Hayes in 2019 before leaving the show last year.
Richard went on to work on the TV series, The Gone, as the leading man Theo Richter.
The Irish star has now revealed he chose to exit the show as there was a lack of challenge for him and he wasn’t feeling the LA lifestyle.
He told RTE Guide: “I don’t miss it to be honest. It was a great opportunity, and I met some lovely people, but The Gone is really the kind of stuff I’m looking for: in every day, long hours, some difficult scenes.
“I want that challenge. With Grey’s [Anatomy] there’s such a big cast, you’re only in two or three days a week.
“I also like being on location, as we were in New Zealand.
“With Grey’s, you’re in LA and everybody has their lives so after work, everybody goes home and there’s not that interaction you’d have on location in a tiny town in New Zealand.
“I like that aspect of the acting industry where you get to collaborate and get to know others. Grey’s didn’t feel like that to me.”
Earlier this year, Sandra Oh, who is best known for playing Dr. Cristina Yang in Grey’s Anatomy, spent some down time in Ireland.
The 52-year-old dined in Dublin City’s Michelin Star Chapter One restaurant.
The eatery’s manager shared a snap of himself and Sandra to his Instagram page along with a sweet message.
He wrote: “What a pleasure meeting @iamsandraohinsta last week.
“An amazing person, engaging, kind with the staff and genuinely interested during our conversation about the history of the restaurant, its art pieces.”
Fans and followers all took to the comment section to share their love for the actress.
Ronan commented saying: “How cool. Such a great actor and your post confirms what you tell from her eyes.”
Michela said: “No way.”

Venita added: “Cool!”
