Former ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ Star Todd Chrisley Is Reportedly “Very Upset” About Spending Upcoming Holiday Season Behind Bars

Todd Chrisley is preparing to spend his first holiday season behind bars and he isn’t very happy about it.

Todd’s attorney, Jay Surgent, told TMZ Todd is “very upset about his situation,” which will see the former Chrisley Knows Best star breaking bread with his fellow inmates instead of his family.

As fans know, both Todd and his wife Julie Chrisley will be absent from the Thanksgiving dinner table this year after the couple were sentenced to prison– 12 and seven years, respectively– for tax evasion and fraud crimes. (The couple recently had their sentences reduced– 2 years off for Todd and one year off Julie.)

While Todd won’t be able to feast on a homemade Chrisley dinner Thursday, he will reportedly be treated to a special Thanksgiving spread, courtesy of FPC Pensacola in Florida, where he is serving his prison sentence.

Todd and Julie can also look forward to getting a visit from their daughter Savannah Chrisley at some point this holiday season, though with Todd being in Florida and Julie serving her time in Kentucky, Savannah will presumably have to coordinate a visiting plan going into Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The 26-year-old revealed Monday on social media that she and her family-– including younger siblings Greyson and Chloe, whom she became the legal guardian of after Todd and Julie were sentenced to prison in November-– will be celebrating “a little different this year.”

“ … I wasn’t going to fake it,” she said.

Though Todd and Julie won’t be home for Thanksgiving (or Christmas), Todd’s attorney claims they are still exploring legal strategies that would get the couple home sooner than originally planned. Todd currently has a court date in March where his legal team will attempt to reverse his conviction.

Savannah spoke about the recent update on her parents’ appeals this week on her podcast, claiming she was “sobbing” upon hearing the good news.

“ … I got a call this morning and the appeals court has granted our oral arguments,” she said, according to Us Weekly. “I was literally sobbing. It is one step closer to getting mom and dad home. The kids are freaking out. I’m freaking out … it’s just amazing.

“Only about 6 percent of cases that are submitted for oral arguments get accepted,” she continued. “So this is huge news. We get to go and argue why mom and dad should be home. God is good. Thanksgiving win!”
